The Breck Epic is a 6-day mountain bike race held in and around the backcountry surrounding Breckenridge. Each stage begins and ends in town, allowing racers to stay in one place for the entire event. The race is 220-240 miles long and features roughly 40,000 feet of vertical gain (and loss). The Epic is composed of 6 BIG backcountry loops (3 loops for the 3-day Epic-curious events), each between 35 and 50 miles long. The race has been described as a rad vibe with a mid-90s mayhem feel.

The event is unique in that it employs a cloverleaf format; each loop starts and finishes within a mile from downtown Breckenridge and utilizes the sprawling network of trails in both Summit and Park Counties. The six stages that compose the Epic are a well-rounded rider’s dream. Long middle-ring climbs and endless big-ring mashing descents.

Breckenridge Welcome Center Located in the heart of town adjacent to the Blue River Plaza, the Breckenridge Welcome Center is located at 203 South Main Street. Part information center, part hands-on interpretive museum, the 4,000 sq. ft. center provides visitors and locals information on everything from dining and shopping to winter and summer activities in and around Breckenridge. Stop by the Welcome Center to receive information about things to do in Breckenridge during your stay. The Breckenridge Welcome Center is also the starting point for Breckenridge History tours.
