Eclipse. After four decades, Breck Film has a home of its own.

Thanks to Donors and Sponsors, the 2020 Breck Film Fest was enjoyed across 41 states and six countries! While we wished you were here, we felt proud to bring Breckenridge to you, wherever you were. The 2021 & 2022 Festivals were hosted across three local in-person venues, and online for those unable to make the trek to Breck.

For us, film serves as a foundation for community; a way to bring people together from different demographics and belief systems. As the festival that screened Blockbusters like “The Shawshank Redemption,” “L.A. Confidential,” and “Kung Fu Panda” (yes, you saw it here first!) Breck Film brings thousands of people together through film, but in 2020 Breck Film leveled up!

Breck Film has amped its Outreach and Education programs to drive conversations around racial inequality and inclusivity. We launched a “What We’re Watching Campaign” that highlights films about racism, social justice, and civil rights every Thursday on Instagram (because knowledge is power). Moreover, we supported our first Solidarity Nation event at which community leaders and residents discussed what Black Lives Matter means to them.

We expanded our reach across Summit County and at the Eclipse Theater began offering films in both English and Spanish to better connect with our prominent LatinX community.

Beyond race, Breck Film highlights women and youth in the industry through its annual celebration of Women’s History Month programming, elite internship programs in partnership with CU Denver, and partnership with Keystone Science School’s Girls in STEM program.

Film teaches us to believe anything is possible. We have an opportunity to relive history, imagine new worlds, and shape better futures.
