Join us on this overnight trail-building project in Frisco. The Peaks Trail is an epic ride from the town of Frisco to near the base of Peak 8 in Breck. Some of these high peaks hold snow well into summer, creating almost year-round creeks and wet meadows. The bridges along the trail were constructed almost 30 years ago of locally available timbers and are now decayed and unsafe and sinking into the water they were intended to span.

This year, WRV returns to finish construction on one of the largest structures on the Peaks Trail, a 750 ft boardwalk at the popular Zach’s Stop trailhead.

Volunteers will camp nearby (or you can stay in town) and commute to the Zach’s Stop parking lot Saturday and Sunday morning. We’ll continue construction of the new boardwalk and approaches from materials brought in by our Youth Corps partners earlier in the summer.

Affectionately called “Main Street of the Rockies” for our charming downtown, Frisco clocks in at just under 2 square miles. Frisco is the perfect springboard to all sorts of outdoor adventures that extend well beyond our town boundaries, including skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, sailing, and camping. Learn more about activities in Frisco. And when you’re done playing each day, we’ve got plenty of places for you to rest, relax, and resupply.
